Arthur Hale, MD, MS, is a resident physician in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He earned a BA in International Relations and an MS in Community Health and Prevention Research, both from Stanford University, and recently received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. Prior to his medical training, he worked as a consultant for the World Health Organization, focusing on COVID-19 policy in the Western Pacific Region. As a member of Physicians for Social Responsibility and International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, he is involved in the medical movement for nuclear abolition and has published on the health and humanitarian consequences of nuclear weapons. He is passionate about raising awareness that there is no adequate public health or medical response to nuclear war and plans to continue educating health care professionals and the public on the grave threat posed by nuclear weapons.
