Joe McCabe, MD
Joe McCabe, MD believes that physicians have a responsibility to practice preventive medicine to address both the climate crisis and the threat of nuclear weapons. He has been a member of Greater Boston Physicians for Social Responsibility since the early 1980’s, when he was active on the Speaker’s Bureau. He is a Needham Town Meeting Member and was the petitioner for a 2019 resolution calling for the US to “pull back from the brink” and prevent nuclear war. The resolution was approved by Town Meeting by a large majority. He continues advocacy for Back from the Brink resolutions. He retired from the practice of psychiatry in 2022. He taught psychiatry to medical students at Harvard Medical School for many years.
